Playa de Fanabe is one of the two main beaches in Costa Adeje. It is located in one of the most prestigious tourist areas of the island, near Playa El Duc, which is considered the most expensive in the south of Tenerife.
It can be easily reached on foot from the nearby resort of Las Americas, following the road along the coast. On the way, you will notice that the coastline begins to rush upward. At the highest point there is an observation deck, from where you can see the picturesque surroundings.
Passing further, it is impossible not to notice the huge port of Colon, which will have to be bypassed using special stairs, or by turning onto the adjacent streets. Behind the port begins a well-maintained embankment, decorated with a white balustrade, and below, along the Atlantic Ocean, a long sandy line of a spacious beach stretches. It is divided into two parts, as indicated by the signs. The first half with yellow reed canopies is Torviscas Beach. Fanabe follows. The name of the beach is also indicated on the information board.
Thanks to the stone breakwaters, the waves are small here, which makes it possible to relax comfortably with small children. But the entrance to the water can be difficult due to the presence of stone slabs. Therefore, you should be extremely careful.
A blue banner flutters near the beach - the highest quality mark in the world, which is recognized by the international organization UNESCO for the cleanest and most comfortable beach areas.
The sand on the beach is gray. The reason for this is the mixture of black volcanic sand and imported African sand, which has the usual yellow tint.
The beach infrastructure is well developed. There are showers, toilets, water transport rentals, sun loungers, changing and massage cabins. There are a large number of bars, summer cafes and restaurants on the embankment. All kinds of shops are also located here.
The Costa Adeje resort is distinguished by a calm atmosphere, so lovers of secluded relaxation come here.
While relaxing on the island, you should definitely see its natural beauty. You can enjoy them in full on a walking tour or boat trip on a yacht from Puerto Colon.
In the neighboring resort of Los Américas, you can visit one of two water parks equipped with the most modern attractions, numerous zoos and exotic gardens. And from the port of the nearby resort of Los Cristianos, you can go by boat to the neighboring island of Gomera.
