Balaklava, whose webcams are available on this site in real time, is a cozy and picturesque corner of the southwestern coast of Crimea, where you can not only relax your body and soul, but also learn a lot of interesting things.
On the central embankment of Nazukin, which is one of the most visited parts of the resort, there is the Museum of the History of Balaklava. This is a private institution that has a modest but very interesting exposition. Its small halls contain unique artifacts that tell about the events of the Crimean War. Here you can see ancient weapons and uniforms, personal belongings of soldiers. The presentation of the exposition is carried out by the British, which also arouses genuine interest among visitors. A tour of the Museum will be useful at any age.
Another famous museum of Balaklava has an outstanding past, it is the underwater Museum complex, created on the former submarine base.
Here, in an atmosphere of absolute secrecy, at a depth of more than 120 meters underground, a military factory worked, where submarines were repaired, and torpedoes and nuclear warheads were also stored. After the base was declassified, it became available to anyone. A walk through the underground labyrinths, the total length of which is about 900 meters, as well as the fascinating story of the guide, will not leave anyone indifferent.
Balaclava also has its own shrines. This is the Temple of the Twelve Apostles, which was built in the 18th century on the street that today bears the name of Kuprin, who loved to visit this city.
Presumably, the current building was built on the foundation of an ancient temple of the VI century. Perhaps that is why the object has an architectural appearance different from other places of worship in Balaklava. The temple has a cruciform layout and a central dome. The main entrance is decorated with tall Ionic columns and a triangular portico. The interior decoration is no less concise than the exterior decor. However, the atmosphere of calm and enlightenment that reigns in this temple was appreciated by thousands of local and visiting parishioners.
If there are no plans to visit the Crimean peninsula yet, Balaklava webcams will help you get to know this resort better, and, possibly, determine the route for the next trip.
