Ukraineat the intersection of rivers Kamyanka and Umanka. By population the city occupies second place in Ukraine. This city has a rich history, which is most clearly formed in the era of the Cossacks. Also, Uman is known for its cultural figures, unique ancient monuments, among which, one of the most prominent is a work of landscape art - Sophia Park. Lenin square is the center of the city of Uman, with a length of 170 m and a width ranging from 30 to 90 m. Earlier in the center of the square was a monument to Vladimir Lenin, which was demolished and dismantled in February 2014 at the initiative of the urban community. On the square are various shops, the city administration, management of the tax office, the Telegraph, the culture house, the hotel "Uman", as well as Central city Park. In 2008 was reconstructed Uman Central Park, or square, built in the traditions of European landscape style. It extends many cobble-stoned avenues lined with deciduous and coniferous trees, blooming flower beds, there are convenient benches for passers-by, fancy swirls towering stone parapets topped with elegant lanterns. Park ensemble, the cosy and hushed atmosphere perfectly complements a small fountain, that murmur of the water singing along to nesting birds. The Park includes a theater, equipped with modern swings and slides Playground, which makes it attractive for family walks. Another important feature of the Park is located in the Roman Catholic Church of the assumption of the blessed virgin, which was built here in the NINETEENTH century. In the 70-ies of XX century it was equipped art gallery, which operates in our days, but on Sundays here and go now parishioners at the service.
