Rzeszow, a view of the Lubomirski Palace

Rzeszów castle is one of the most important attractions of the city Rzeszow, Poland. The modern Palace was built over several years 1902-1906 years in the ancient castle of the Lubomirski family. The first and most important fortification was located exactly at the same place, and was probably built in the XVI century. A little later, at the end of the XVI century, the castle was a fortified manor house of Nicholas Spytek Ligeza. In 1820, the entire complex was rebuilt by the Austrian authorities of the Kingdom and adapted for prison and judicial purposes. Its destruction and defeat in the beginning of XX century, connected with the old structures of the castle. In the initial form has managed to retain only part of the gate - towers and bastions. In the middle of the Palace walls is the summer hall of the Lubomirski family in rzeszów. The Lubomirski family also involved in patronage, some members of the family financed many of the institutions, and also supported the studies of poor students. The Lubomirski family also built churches and monasteries and schools in their castles and estates.
