A small town on the banks of the river Otava. Just realize that Strakonice to be proud of rather industry than tourist attractions. But not always, the city was in this state. Hrad Strakonice appeared approximately in 1180 at the crossroads of trade routes. The first owner was rod Bavoriv. Bevor I in 1243 gave the Eastern part of the castle, the Church and hospital of the knights of the order of St. John, and then between the Church and the Palace erected a corridor with vaults with brick ribs.
