The first trees were planted on the banks of the Salgir back in 1820, and immediately the magnificent English-style park became a favorite walking place for the townspeople.

It was opened quite recently, but it is an exact copy of the composition that stood here until 1921. The central figure is a bronze sculpture of Empress Catherine the Great on a granite pedestal. At the foot there are sculptures of princes Vasily Dolgoruky-Crimean and Grigory Potemkin-Tavrichesky, as well as busts of Alexander Suvorov and Yakov Bulgakov. The monument is surrounded by a group of four old-style cast-iron lanterns and benches and fountains.
Another artifact from the past is the Savopulo fountain, in the place of which there was once a spring. According to the blind Greek Apostle Savopulo, he once healed and became sighted by washing his face with water from a spring. In honor of the miraculous recovery, he built a fountain with a corresponding inscription on the plate.
