Most of them are devoted to military topics. After all, it was during the Great Patriotic War that the territory of this settlement was in the very center of the bloody battles with the invaders of Leningrad. In memory of the liberators and victims of fascism, many monumental objects and memorial complexes have been erected in the vicinity of Krasnoye Selo.
One of the most heartfelt is the Monument to the Prisoners of Nazism. During the German occupation, the Echo concentration camp was founded on Leningrad land, which is known for its special brutal attitude towards prisoners. Thousands of women, children, old people were driven here, who were subjected to inhuman torment. In memory of those who knew the horrors of the Nazi concentration camp in 2009, a sculpture was erected. It is a stone arch with a cut tunnel, symbolizing the chamber. Under its arches stands the figure of an exhausted and emaciated boy, hunched his shoulders. The boy is standing on a pedestal of letters that form the inscription "prisoners of Nazism." The tunnel is carved in the form of stylized human figures, which personify the images of a huge number of dead people whose lives ended in concentration camps. The figures are carved symmetrically, on the right and left sides behind the sculptural image of a child. And together they resemble the silhouette of angel wings. Above them is the inscription "Do not forget us." In front of the sculpture, there is another pedestal in the form of a cube, in which the numbers 1941-1945 are inscribed. An alley leads to the memorial, along the edges of which rise rows of black lanterns in the form of lamps used by the Nazis in the barracks of a concentration camp during the Second World War. A capsule with earth from several camps is embedded in the monument.
Another similar monument is located in the Grieving Motherland Square. It is a sculpture of a woman bowing her head in weeping. It is located at the mass grave, on which granite slabs with the names of the soldiers buried in it are installed. The long list includes almost 500 names.
