The most famous park is Krasnoye Selo, which used to be called the Palace Garden. In the pre-revolutionary era, a complex of five palaces for members of the royal family stood in these territories. Among them are three imperial and two grand-ducal.
The garden itself was laid out in 1828. The first plantings were linden, birch, oaks, mountain ash, lilac, jasmine. Landscaped paths and recreational areas were laid between them. A little later, when a water pipe was laid through the Palace Sloboda, beautiful fountains appeared in the garden.
The Soviet authorities, who replaced the imperial one, renamed the location Lenin Park and carefully looked after its territory. But during the war years, the garden was badly damaged and was almost destroyed. The restoration of the green zone was taken up after the Victory. In the same period, monuments to the victims of the Second World War and the German occupation appeared on the territory of the former Palace Garden. Today this park is one of the most popular places for recreation. Important city events are also held here.

Another well-known park in Krasnoe Selo runs along the slope of one of the three famous Duderhof peaks - Orekhovaya Mountain and is included in the list of the largest in this part of the region.

Its territory occupies almost 50 hectares, and the history began under Nicholas I, who presented Duderhof to his wife Alexandra Feodorovna. A colorful Swiss house was built for her in the village. And later, by order of the Empress, a landscape park was laid out on the slope. Especially for this, 120 beech trees were brought from abroad. In addition to them, larches, oaks, chestnuts, viburnum and other tree and shrub crops were planted here. After the October Revolution, the house of the Empress was nationalized, and the territory of the park became publicly available for ordinary citizens to visit. Many buildings of the complex were destroyed during the war. But after the Victory, the park and the surviving objects of its infrastructure received the status of a monument of national importance.
