Holy Trinity ioninsky monastery

Holy Trinity ioninsky monastery, located in the townKiev. Orthodox monastery, founded in the sixties of the XIX century. By the beginning of XX century, the monastery consisted of more than 800 novices and monks. Worked till 34 years, was closed by order of the Soviet authorities. Holy Trinity ioninsky monastery, was founded in 60 years of XIX century. Its founder, Archimandrite of Vydubychi on the ground of the widow of the Governor-General Vasilchikova E. A. Before the First world war, it was planned to build one of the biggest bells in the Russian Empire, and was supposed to be 110 meters. Holy Trinity ioninsky monastery operated until 1934 in the city of Kiev,Ukraine. By order of the Soviet authorities the monastery was closed. After the construction of the Botanical garden of Academy of Sciences of the USSR in its territory consisted of the names of the Holy Trinity ioninsky monastery. In 1991, the monastery was again transferred to the Orthodox Church. Since the beginning 2000go year, began restoration work, and restoration of the main temple of the monastery. Was rebuilt and renewed brethren's buildings, bell tower, clock tower, and Holy Trinity Church.
