Ancientthe city of Galicha slim band stretches between the hills and lake in the Kostroma region. It's sort of the gates of the Russian North, where to this day preserved a great treasure of historical and cultural values. Here you will find a clean and well-kept streets. Before the arrival of the colonizer of Yuri Dolgoruky, in these parts was the capital of the tribes of Mary. For a long time there was fought a desperate struggle of the Russian princes for the right to own these lands. Further rises Shemyakin mountain, where, according to legend, the son of Dolgoruky – Dmitry Shemyaka had hidden untold wealth. Arriving in Galicia, you should also be sure to visit Paisievo-Galich monastery, lying on top of Fox mountain. The main monastery Cathedral, erected in the middle of the XVII century, is considered the most ancient in the whole Northern part of the region.
