Samui is a great place for recreation, cultural and spiritual development. The abundance of attractions, magnificent nature, well-developed service, variety of entertainment - all this makes the island one of the most desirable travel destinations.
You can see all the splendor of the Gulf of Thailand, washing the island, from the observation deck at the Dr Frogs restaurant, if you climb to the top of the hill towards Lamai. The panorama that opens from here is so wide that if you look closely, you can see the horizon curving.
Among the many temples in Samui, Wat Samret is worth noting. A statue of a seated Buddha is kept here, carved from a single piece of marble. There are other Buddhist sculptures nearby, including the reclining Buddha.
A number of stupas pass behind the structure, symbolizing the memory of the dead monks. Buddhist stupas are a small architectural form with a hemispherical outline and a monolithic structure. Less often it has interior rooms.
Another interesting temple on Koh Samui is called Hainan. The entrance to a typical building in the form of a Chinese pagoda is decorated with a staircase guarded by two golden statues depicting lions. The roof of the temple is decorated with magnificent oriental dragons with pointed corners. This site is considered one of the finest Chinese temples on Koh Samui. It was erected by the natives of the island of Hainan (China).
Those who want to relax on one of the pristine beaches of the island should go to Mae Nam. Its coast stretches along the water for 5 km with a wide strip of white sand surrounded by palm trees. It is noteworthy that relatively few tourists who prefer to rest in more "promoted" locations know about this place, so even in the high season you can find a place here. There are bungalows near the beach and a wide variety of restaurants.
Here, nearby, there is an observation deck, which is located in a picturesque place at the foot of the hill, not far from the waterfall. You can get here both on foot and by scooter. The spacious terrace, attached to the trees, offers a breathtaking panorama of the island.
If the purpose of visiting the beach is an unusual photo session, it is recommended to visit Hua Thanon, which is located next to the Muslim village of the same name. The local coast is full of moored boats, local kids are running around, and the coastline is framed by lush palm trees. Such an unusual texture can serve as an excellent background for atypical photos.
