In the Central part of the North Caucasus was a major industrial and cultural city of Vladikavkaz, which is also the administrative center of the city district.
The beginning of the history of this city goes back in the XVIII century during the reign of Catherine II, when the security of the communication between the Caucasus and Russia's ally Georgia, was created several security fortifications, among which was the Outpost of Vladikavkaz.
