Any ancient mention of the city was mentioned in Chronicles of the chronicler and priest Tamara from Mathebula written in the period from 1012 – 1018. Not many miraculously preserved data, the city of poznań also appears in documents with name – Posnania. The full official name of ever occurring - Stołeczne Miasto Poznań, which means "the Capital city of Poznan". In ancient times, the city played an important political role in Eastern Europe, where the possibility of going to the ruling power.
