Here rises the impregnable Haakon's hall, which today hosts various festivals and celebrations. As already mentioned, the city is surrounded by hills on the top which can be reached by cable car or funicular. The most popular peak is mount Placen, where you can endlessly contemplate all the splendor of this city and its suburbs. Another scenic spot in the outskirts of Bergen – lake Lille, next to which is a Museum of Art, exhibiting paintings of masters Norway and Abroad.
