Alanya is a resort and town in Turkey in Antalya region, situated on the shore of the Mediterranean sea. The city was founded by the Greeks in the second century BC, then came into the possession of the Roman Empire, and then became part of the Byzantine. In ancient times the city was known as "Korakesion" and "Kalonoros", but after the conquest by the Seljuks, the town acquires a new name "Alaya". Today Alanya is one of the most popular Turkish resorts annually visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world who find in the city for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The climate of Alanya is Mediterranean subtropical climate, which in combination with the protection from North winds, making Alanya the most warm large Turkish resort. Winter is usually warm, but rainy, and summers are very hot, but it's worth noting that the humidity is quite high in Alanya all year round.
