Winter holidays in Goa. Where and when?
The state of Goa is considered to be the smallest in India. However, it is divided into two parts: North and South. It is purely symbolic, just so convenient to plan a holiday in this land of eternal summer. The rhythm of life, entertainment, the surrounding audience are different, so those who come here in advance plan what daily routine is preferable in their company. It is better to go in winter, from December to March. There are some things you need to consider when choosing.
The southern part of Goa primarily attracts lovers of quiet rest. Families with children, pensioners, with different levels of wealth. Measured, cozy, quite comfortable life. But at the same time the rest here will cost more than in the northern part of the state.
In this part it is convenient to plan a family holiday. The beaches and sea here are cleaner than in the north. Soft white sand, well-viewed shore. Slightly higher service in hotels. A large number of specially equipped playgrounds with "frog" pools. There are far fewer tourists. There are water parks, zoos, gardens, nature reserves. Children's holidays are offered with the services of animators. Many cafes have a special children's menu. To entertain children (and parents) you can order a walk on elephants. For convenience in each hotel there is a service - a nanny who will look after the child while adults are engaged in their own affairs.
The North is preferred by active tourists. Funny incendiary parties, informal socializing, a large number of visitors, fun time in nightclubs. People of different professions are in an uninhibited environment.
A visit to the village of Arambol, the conditional "capital" of the Northern part of Goa, is popular. The sunset show is organized by various musicians. Drum fraction, musical and rhythmic, involves in a large multi-age motley group, where everyone dances right on the beach, admiring the colorful sunset. At times, fiery performances get tired. It's even more mesmerizing than the general dance.
Shopping is also better in the North. There are many flea markets where souvenirs and handmade gizmos are sold.
It is most convenient to ride on mopeds, scooters, bikes. The cost of rent is quite low. If you do not want to move independently, you can use a taxi (both regular cars and bikes). There are also traditional buses.
