After staying in a 5-star hotel for 3 days, each tourist will be able to receive 200 euros to their account. And when choosing the small island of Gozo, travelers will receive an additional bonus - 10%.

The country's authorities have already allocated 3.5 million euros for this program. Experts believe that the action will attract more than 35 thousand additional tourists.

Malta has a mild quarantine today. On April 12, educational institutions and preschool institutions began to work. Citizens can visit nursing homes. Non-food outlets and organizations in the service sector will be able to open from April 26. On the same day, the ban on gathering groups of up to 4 people in public places will be lifted.

The official opening of the international traffic will take place on June 1. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council, tourism accounts for over 27% of the Maltese economy. In 2019, before the start of the pandemic, the state received more than 2.7 million guests from all countries in total. In 2020, this figure dropped to 20%.

At the moment, 42% of adults have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. This is the highest figure for all EU countries.
