In 2010, as an alternative to Baikonur, they began to build a cosmodrome in the Far East. After 6 years, the first satellites launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome entered orbit. Since that time, rockets have been launched every year. And this year 144 satellites were launched.
According to forecasts, Vostochny should become the most important missile launch site in the country. The first launch of a spacecraft with people is scheduled for 2023.
Already today, the total area of the cosmodrome reaches 700 km2. But according to the project, many more objects need to be built. Among them is the airport. It is noteworthy that the Vostochny cosmodrome, like the bridge in Vladivostok, is depicted on a 2000 ruble note.

Another outstanding facility built in Russia in the 21st century is the electrometallurgical plant in Kaluga. The company called NLMK Kaluga is the largest organization for the production of rolled metal for construction needs.
The enterprise was opened in 2012. And 38 billion rubles were allocated for its construction. Today it is a place of work for over 1000 citizens of the Russian Federation.
