Banff National Park, which is located in the Canadian Rockies, has discovered Lake Peyto, named after the discoverer Bill Peito. If you look at the body of water from a bird's-eye view, its outlines resemble a wolf's head. Water has an unusually bright tropical color, which is not typical for northern latitudes. This shade is the result of the weights of nearby glaciers that feed the body of water.

Another water-famous attraction is Lake Peoe in Chile, located in the Torres del Pine National Park. Not far from it is the beautiful waterfall Salto Grande, which has a height of 65 m. In the middle of the lake there are several small islets connected to the main shore by bridges. There are several hotels and picnic areas along the Peoe. The body of water has a special beauty in sunny clear weather, when its surface as a mirror clearly reflects the sky and mountains.

At an altitude of about 5000 meters above sea level, Lake Tilicho is hidden in the Himalayan mountains. It is fed by the Glaciers of Annapurna. In the winter season it freezes, and in the summer it runs small icebergs. Getting to Tilico is not easy, and walking along the shore is considered dangerous because of the possibility of an avalanche. But tourists still visit this attraction, passing on a standard tour path. The entire infrastructure is represented by one small tea house.

Indian tribes that once lived in the Lake Tahoe area, near Sierra Nevada, gave it the name "grasshopper soup." Probably, the reason for this was a large number of these insects, which were in the vicinity of the reservoir. Today there are several ski resorts concentrated here.

In the gorge of the Kungei-Alatau mountain range, located in Kazakhstan, there is Lake Kainda. The water in it is pure turquoise color. The water is very young, as it was formed as a result of the earthquake of 1911. The main attraction is spruces growing directly from the water.

Lake Gruner-see is very popular with divers. Under the water are sunken meadows, benches and even a bridge. In winter, all this is on the surface.
