Waiting: already in October 2020 Thailand is going to open its doors

Official sources report the intentions of the Thai authorities to restore the operation of the famous world resort. First of all, it is planned to open the borders to all those who plan to spend a long term in the country. Applications for visas will soon begin. A long-term visa will allow you to stay in Thailand for 90 days, followed by an extension of up to two times in a row.
Earlier, a number of agreements were signed between Russia and the island kingdom, which resulted in the cancellation of the visa procedure for Russians. However, stay in the country is limited to 30 days. It turns out that the old conditions contradict the new restrictions. And Russian citizens will still have to apply for a long-term visa for 90 days.
In addition, all foreign tourists are required to undergo a two-week state quarantine, and only after the long-awaited holiday. The restrictive measures were approved by the Cabinet on 15 September. After the isolation period, all guests of Thailand receive permission to travel freely throughout the country. Without this condition, normal rest is not available.
The first influx of tourists is expected in October this year. It is estimated that the influx will not exceed 1,200 people per month. According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, they should replenish the country's budget by 1 billion baht, in equivalent - 27 million euros.
In the overall world picture Thailand is quite successfully coping with the problem of coronavirus. Today, the tourism industry, which plays a key role for the country's economy, is in critical condition due to seven months of downtime. Official figures as of September 15 show 3,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of deaths was less than 60.
