Croatia was one of the first European countries to open its borders to Russians

Croatia was one of the first European countries to open its borders to Russians While the main part of Europe is only thinking about when to open external borders, the Croatian authorities have officially informed that in less than a month Russians will be allowed to enter the territory of the state.

To date, Croatia has already opened to travelers from nearby countries (Czech Republic, Slovenia). The country has beaches and catering facilities, as well as the famous park "Plitvice lakes." At the same time, foreigners do not need to present a certificate about the absence of the virus and stay in two weeks quarantine after crossing the border. The new arrivals only need to complete a questionnaire, which prescribes the place of residence in Croatia and contact details.
Among the traditional requirements, tourists undertake only to observe the social distance, without wearing a mask and gloves.

From June 1, holidaymakers from all EU countries will be allowed to enter Croatia. And from June 15, entry will be available to citizens from other non-EU countries (including Russia). At the same time, you can come to this country without even waiting for the official opening date, provided several conditions are met. These include property ownership in Croatia, or kinship with indigenous people. As well as having your own business. If there is such a reason, you can get permission from the Ministry of the Interior and go there at any time. However, it is still possible to get to Croatia only by private car. From the European side it is possible to do it from Slovenia. It is not yet known when the first aircraft will fly to Croatia and whether the flights will be carried out only to zagreb or the airport will open for tourists in Pula.

As long as Croatia is only a member of the European Union, not a member of the Schengen Treaty, there is a possibility of simplification of the visa regime for Russian citizens. However, if you have a national visa, it will be impossible to enter the neighboring Schengen states (e.g. Slovenia or Italy).
Visa applications will be open in mid-June 2020.
