8 World Heritage Sites added to the UNESCO list last year. Part 1 In 2019, the world organization UNESCO has listed 29 new sites as protected cultural sites. Among them, 8 are the most. Interestingly, one of them is located in Russia.

The first in the list of new UNESCO World Heritage Sites is the complex of buildings in Pskov. These are cathedrals, churches, monasteries, towers and administrative facilities dating from the 12th and 17th centuries and located at the banks of the Great River. The Pskov architectural school was formed under the influence of the Byzantine and Novgorod traditions of architecture. At the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, it reached its development, becoming one of the main in the country and having a significant impact on the formation of architectural styles in Russia for 500 years.

The next facility is located in Spain. These are the Sacred Mountains, which are located in the heart of the island of Gran Canaria. The landscape is mostly rocky, formed of volcanic formations. There is evidence of the pre-Hispanic culture that was formed on the islands after the arrival of the North African Barbers and before the arrival of Spanish settlers on these lands. The complex includes religious caves and two temples. Experts suggest that there were religious rites of worship of the stars and the earth.

In third position is the Bon Jesus do Monti Sanctuary in Portugal. It is an amazing and unique architectural complex, located on the slope of Mount Eshpinho, near the city of Braga. It has a stunning park and a temple, whose name translates as "Christ on Calvary." The complex was built in the 14th century. Initially, a worship cross and a chapel were erected here, where pilgrims from all parts of the country gathered. A special color has a 116-meter staircase, divided into three spans, each of which has its own name and cult value.

The four outstanding objects are completed by Vatnaiokudl National Park in Iceland. Its territory occupies 12 thousand. about 14% of the country. Here you can see fabulous caves made of blue ice, combined with hot springs and black waterfalls. The name of the park is identical to that of a large glacier, which occupies about 8% of the entire territory of Iceland and half of the park. The thickness of its ice in some areas is 1 km. Here you can take fantastic photos, capturing how the cold essence of ice meets the blazing power of the earth in the form of volcanoes.
