George Street is located in the historic center of Vladimir, in the former New town. Starts between houses № 24 and 26 on the Great Moscow street, a narrow alley runs past the Church of St George and then runs parallel to the Great Moscow street toward the ensemble of the Spasskaya and Nikolskaya churches along the crest of the coastal terraces high plateau, wherein the XII century, located the princely courts of Yuri Dolgoruky and Andrey Bogolyubsky. At the court of Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in 1129-1157 years was built the Church of St. George, and at the turn of XII-XIII centuries — the convent (abolished in the years 1712-1715), later gave its name to the street.
