Webcam Palermo is located on the square at the entrance to the Palermo Cathedral.

This is one of the main places of worship in the city. It houses the patron saint of Palermo, Saint Rosalia. Despite the fact that the building was rebuilt many times over the course of several centuries, it still retained the features of the Arab-Norman architecture.

In Palermo, whose webcams are available on the site, you can find everything a traveler wants, here is architecture, nature, and excellent Italian cuisine.

One of the most interesting Sicilian houses in Palermo, whose webcams allow you to see the city online, is Palazzo Drago Airoldi. The building stands on pre-existing Arab and Roman structures.
The exact date of construction, the author of the project or the names of the family who ordered the construction of this structure are unknown. According to historical data, in 1714 the palace belonged to Casimiro Drago, president of the Consistory. The coat of arms on the portal undoubtedly testifies to belonging to the Drago family. Another proof of the ownership of the palace is also the famous engraving by Francesco Cise. It depicts the main façade of the palace and a grandiose late Baroque portal surmounted by a mixed tympanum and a coat of arms with a dragon.

When the palace became the property of Biagio Il Drago, some changes were made. They concerned the decoration of the palace. For example, in 1744, terraces appeared in the courtyard, and frescoes appeared in the main hall and some other rooms. Their author was Olivio Sozzi, an important figure in Sicilian painting of the 17th century.

In the 19th century, when the palace passed as a dowry to the marquises of Santa Colomba, the external appearance and the courtyard were significantly changed. The restoration project was carried out by Giovanni Battista Filippo Basile, significantly distorting the original baroque character of the building to match the eclectic-classical style that was fashionable at the time.
At the same time, the interior decoration has also undergone changes. The main floor was divided into various halls with a typical enfilade arrangement. On the ceiling was a fresco by Olivio Sozzi titled The Appointment of Zeus to Hermes. It is the first of three scenes that continue into the next room. This is the only Sozzi work with a pagan background.
The first of the three halls is dominated by red colors. The second hall is a large neoclassical room that was formerly the main hall, as evidenced by its size and central position. The third one has a lot of decorative elements in red and blue shades. The rooms also contain many works by Sicilian artists.

Palermo will remain in the memory of any tourist, even webcams will give you pleasure from what you see in real time.
