Live webcam overlooking the Central Square in the city of Novy Urengoy.
The lens covers a landscaped recreational area, as well as the roadway of the adjoining Leningradsky Prospekt. The square is bordered by the Open Stage, Oktyabr cinema, cafes, banks and shops. Not so long ago, the square was painted with an art object - a luminous inscription "New Urengoy".
Novy Urengoy, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, is considered the gas capital of Russia. And this is quite justified.
After all, the settlement that first appeared on the site of a modern city was built next to large natural gas fields. And the first residents here were employees of Gazprom. Despite its industrial orientation, there are many interesting sights here.
The hallmark and symbol of Novy Urengoy, whose webcams are available in real time, is the Monument to the borehole and people.
It is a sculptural group of workers who stand at the drilling rig. Attached to the monument is a table with the date of the appearance of the first exploratory well. It is noteworthy that since the 60s the monument has never been reconstructed and preserved in its original form.
A similar monument was erected in honor of the 25th anniversary of Urengoygazprom already in our century. It is represented by a high column on which stands a female figure holding a bowl with a torch in her hand. A stylized flame rises from the bowl, flowing into the power of the earth, which the woman holds in her second hand. A time capsule is built inside the monument, which is planned to be opened in 2028.
One of the favorite city attractions among the residents of Novy Urengoy is the Parus fountain. This is the only hydraulic structure in the settlement, which was opened in 2005 in honor of the City Day. Ten years ago, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out here, after which the structure was equipped with colored illuminations that illuminate the fountain in the evening.
An interesting monument of Novy Urengoy is the monument dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino. This is a large pedestal on which there is a sliced loaf of rye "Borodino" bread. There is a commemorative plaque on the pedestal.
Among the modern monuments of Novy Urengoy, it is worth noting the Gazpromdobycha Urengoy stele. It is a tall monolithic column with a blue glass sphere. The monument was installed near the city administration building right on the famous 66th parallel, beyond which the Arctic Circle begins. The opening of the monument took place on April 19, 2013.
If, for now, it is not possible to go to these places, Novy Urengoy webcams, which you can watch online without leaving your home or office, will reduce the shortage of travel.
