A special place in the urban environment of Melitopol, whose webcams can be viewed in real time, are occupied by various museums and monuments.

The most famous cultural and educational institution of the city is the Museum of Local Lore. Here you can see unique collections of ancient coins and Scythian gold, stuffed local birds and animals, old utensils, furniture, clothes and other artifacts. A tour of the museum will allow you to add a holistic picture of how the city lived and developed at different times, as well as what the local land is rich in.
Those who are interested in military history, as well as railway transport, will be interested in taking a look at the Locomotive Depot Museum. The collections of the institution are still being replenished. And its history begins in the second half of the 19th century, when the construction of the Lozovo-Sevastopol railway started. At that time, a station and a depot with workshops for the repair of locomotives and trains, as well as other infrastructure facilities of the enterprise, were built in Melitopol.

In 1970, the first electric locomotives entered the Melitopol depot, and since 1982 it has been decided to organize a museum exhibition here.

In Melitopol, you can find a huge number of monuments dedicated to outstanding personalities who have made a significant contribution to this or that sphere. For example, in the center of the city there is a monument to Bohdan Khmelnitsky, which appeared here in the middle of the last century. The monument rises on the eponymous avenue, next to the Ukraine cinema. The sculptural image of the hetman, made of reinforced concrete, is installed on a monolithic pedestal, 9 meters high. The hetman holds in one hand a large mace, and in the other - papers that symbolize the "Pereyaslavl articles".

Another monument adorned the streets of Melitopol already in our century, it is dedicated to the brilliant musician, composer, poet and theater and film actor - Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky.

The monument to the bard is located at the entrance to the Passage shopping center. The monument was created according to the project of the young sculptor Kostya Chekanov, who, unfortunately, soon after accepting his sketches for work, died of a serious illness.
Every year, themed events dedicated to the work of an outstanding figure of culture and art are held near the Vysotsky monument.
