From a webcam perspective, we can observe the process of building a comprehensive secondary school for 1,200 places in the city of Severomorsk - a major city on the Kola Peninsula. Here is a large seaport, which is the main base of the Northern Fleet of Russia.
The first settlement on the site of the modern city was formed in 1897. The local population of the village was engaged in fishing, pastoralism and hunting. At that time, the village was called Vaenga.
In 1926, the Murmansk forest harvesting company was opened, with a representative office in Vaenga. After that, a dormitory, a telephone line and a bathhouse were opened in the village.
In 1933, they decided to build a naval base of the Northern Fleet in Vaenga Bay.
In the 1930s, military facilities, brick houses and an airfield were built in the village. After World War II, the military base in Wang became the main base of the Northern Fleet.
In 1947, the northern fleet's control was moved to the settlement. In the same year, the first secondary school was built.
In 1948, the Council of Labour Deputies began to function in the village. In April 1951, the working village was transformed into a city called Severomorsk.
In the 1960s, Severomorsk was home to a bakery, a soft drink factory, a swimming pool and a sausage factory.
In the autumn of 1996, by decree of the president of the country, the city received the status of TATO, which also included Safonovo, Severomorsk-3, Roslyakovo, Shchukozero, Safonovo-1.
