On 21 March 1556, when Thomas Cranmer burned, he held out his hand to the fire and held her until she was not completely burned, and, repenting of his sin when he renounced Protestantism. The present place of execution, where they were burned Thomas Cranmer, is 20 metres from the monument and is marked with a red cross on the tile. The memorial was erected in 1851 on the collected funds from the public.
