The angel of Independence in Mexico city – one of the most important monuments to residents of the capital of Mexico. On its creation worked well-known sculptors: Antonio Rivas Mercado, Gonzalo Garita and Manuel Gorozpe. A monument in the form of the column is the symbol of victory, in which Mexico gained long-awaited independence. The centenary of this event was a worthy cause for the erection of the Golden angel, the so – called monument in Mexico city. Once in the Zona Rosa, walk to the centre of the traffic roundabout on Paseo de La Reforma. Even a few tens of metres until it is possible to see the magnificent monument crowned with semitones sculpture Niki, the Greek goddess of victory. Graceful female figure was cast in bronze, which was later covered with 24 carat gold. The authorship belongs to the sculptor Enrique Alciati. The majestic goddess holds in his hand symbols: chains – a reference to the destruction of fetters and freedom, and a Laurel wreath of victory.
