Like many industrial cities of the republic, Yanaul arose as a working settlement due to the construction of the Moscow-Yekaterinburg railway and, accordingly, the Yanaul railway station. There are no popular tourist routes in Yanaul and their appearance is not yet expected. However, there is definitely something to see here. The city is located in a picturesque valley of two rivers - Yanaulka and Bui, and not far from the city limits there is a popular recreation area for citizens - the Karmanovskoye reservoir.
On the way to it, you can get drunk and take clean spring water from a natural source with you on the road. The place of water intake has been comfortably ennobled by one of the local entrepreneurs: the source is hidden in a small wooden house, to which an asphalt road leads. Locals constantly come here for water, and newlyweds have a tradition to come to the spring on their wedding day.

Another natural attraction of Yanaul is Mount Yugamash-tau.

At its foot you can also find many springs, and the indigenous people have many legends about the history of its origin and magical power. There is not far from Yanaul (towards the village of Asavdybash) and a healing mineral spring - Salkyn chishma, which also has its own amazing history.

Not far from the museum is the Iversky-Ilinsky temple, the appearance of which betrays the "Soviet heritage". The chapel was looted and destroyed by particularly zealous atheists, and the church itself had a dance club for a long time. Only in 1992 the temple was returned to believers, but has not yet been fully restored.
Behind the temple, not far from the railway, there is a real steam locomotive, decorated with a red star and other Soviet paraphernalia. Against the backdrop of this elegant giant, guests of the city or transit travelers who happen to be at the local railway station are often photographed. From the opposite side of the station, you can see a recently installed sculptural composition - the Northern Gates of Bashkortostan.
