Live broadcast from the central concert square of the city of Nadvoitsy - a large urban-type settlement in the Republic of Karelia, located on the shore of Lake Voitsky, 234 kilometers north of Petrozavodsk.
General data and historical facts
The first mentions of the Nadvoitskiy graveyard on the site of the modern settlement date back to 1620.
In 1647, the settlement already had an Orthodox church and 26 residential yards.
In the first half of the 18th century, the Voitsky mine was opened near the settlement, where copper was mined for the Olonets mining plants.
In 1916, the Nadvotsy station of the Murmansk railway was built in the village.
In 1930, a branch of the Solovetsky special-purpose camp was opened, on the basis of which the White Sea-Baltic camp was formed.
From 1931 to 1933, the construction of the White Sea-Baltic Canal continued.
In 1942, by decree of the country's authorities, Nadvoitsy received the status of an urban-type settlement.
In 1954, the Nadvoitsky aluminum plant was commissioned in the village.
In 2014, Nadvoitsy was included in the list of single-industry towns of the Russian Federation with the most difficult socio-economic situation.
