The village of Utes, whose webcams are broadcast on this site, is located on the southern coast of Crimea.
Its main asset is its excellent climate and picturesque views, as well as a pleasant, calm atmosphere reminiscent of European resorts. Lovers of clean, warm sea, beautiful Crimean nature and solitude come here. There are also sights here.
The settlement is located in Big Alushta, near the village of Partenit. If you look at the Cliff from the sea, you can see a huge number of boathouses and luxury hotels.
To many who come here for the first time, it may seem that the local population lives here some kind of their own, far from other inhabitants of the peninsula. Perhaps the reason for this is a certain isolation of this place, surrounded by picturesque mountains and parks. There are no big entertainment centers, noisy discos here. Only atmospheric cafes, restaurants and several shops work.
The history of the Utes village has many facets. Before the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Empire, these lands belonged to the Mangup ruler. Later, these lands alternately belonged to the Austrian prince Lin, the nobleman Borozdin, and the Gagarin family.
Prince Lin, who accepted these lands as a gift from Catherine II, settled here fugitive British criminals and unemployed blacks.
Because of this, the lands were again recalled to the Russian treasury. After the Utes and adjacent territories were transferred to Borozdin, magnificent parks and estates built in fashionable architectural styles appeared here.
The lands were transferred to the Gagarin family after 30 years. Prince Alexei Ivanovich, who was related to Borozdin's sister, owned these territories until the Revolution. His estate, despite the strongest earthquake that struck the peninsula in 1927, has survived to this day. Today a sanatorium is located here.
There are also many interesting sights in the vicinity of the Cliff. Most of them are natural monuments. Mount Ayu-Dag, rock Kuchuk-Ayu, as well as a narrow embankment surrounded by motley boathouses - all this gives an indescribable flavor to these places, which you want to feel again and again.
If, for now, go to Crimea only in plans or dreams, the Cliff webcams, which you can watch on this site, will allow you to plunge into this fabulous atmosphere of a cozy southern town.
