World tourism organization conducted a study in which found out which countries have the greatest popularity among tourists.
The top three consisted of France, which during the year was attended by over 85 million people (which is five percent more than the previous), in second place was Spain (the country was visited by more than 80 million people, and the rate rose nearly 9%) and America (the country was visited by over 75 million tourists). USA, by the way, was the only country in the TOP 3, the flow of tourists which showed a decline by almost four percent compared to the previous year.
The five countries with the highest tourist flow has also been China – more than sixty million tourists a year, Italy, which receives 58 million visitors. The top ten remained fairly traditional – the tourists gave preference to Turkey, England, Mexico, Thailand and Germany. The largest increase of tourist flow showed Turkey – per year visited almost 25% more tourists than in the previous year.
The organization also said that at the moment during the year the number of travelers amounted to more than 1.3 billion people – the best figure in recent years.
