In Valencia imposes restrictions on rental housing the visiting tourists
The authorities of the city of Valencia, as well as other Spanish cities decided to introduce certain restrictions on the rental of tourist accommodation. Under the new rules, tourists can rent only 1 or 2 floor of the building. Owners of apartments must pass the licensing and authorization for the delivery of housing.
After that the apartment will have its own identification number that will point to sites that are online aggregators. If such a portal does not indicate the unique individual number of housing, the site could face a fine. Repeated violation can increase the fine up to 600,000 euros.
As it became known, sites like Airbnb, Homeaway and Rentalia already fined 30 000 euros for such a violation.
Recall that such violations introduced in Barcelona, Madrid, Mallorca and other areas of Spain. We developed the same measures in the Canary Islands and the Basque country.
The main reason for these measures lies in the avoidance of many landlords from taxes. This year, Spain was visited by almost 14 000 000 tourists, of which 172 000 are residents of the Russian Federation.
