On the island of Pico, it is the only monument of military architecture that has been partially preserved to this day. In 2006 this facility was reconstructed. Today, in addition to historical buildings, you can find a tourist center, small shops, an amphitheater zone, where various entertainment events are often held. In 2011, the fort was awarded the National Landscape Architecture Award.
