The webcam is installed on the Gumista bridge in the direction of Sukhum-New Athos.

This building was erected across the Gumista River. During the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, this place was engulfed in fierce battles. In memory of those who died in the rocks that are along the road, marble plaques with their images are placed.

Sukhum, whose webcams are available on the site, is the favorite Abkhaz city of many travelers.

The capital is immersed in subtropical plants that do not lose their rich green hues even in winter. It feels like eternal summer here.
The main attraction of the city is the Botanical Garden. It is located in the city center, close to the sea. It also borders on the main street - Leon Avenue. Next to it is the State Museum and Monkey Nursery.

In the Caucasus, the botanical garden is the oldest representative of garden and park art.

It was founded in 1840 by the local garrison doctor Bagrinovsky. Initially, it was just a pharmacy garden, where plants with healing properties grew. But General Nikolai Raevsky decided that something more could be created from this place. He petitioned to assign him to the military department and lobbied for the appointment of a doctor as head.
The general also took part in replenishing the garden with new plants, which were brought here from St. Petersburg and Yalta. Gradually, the territory became larger. They even began to grow vegetables and fruits. Soldiers of the garrison worked in the botanical garden in their free time from hostilities. During the Russian-Turkish troops, this place was repeatedly robbed and destroyed, but each time it was possible to restore it.
At the beginning of the XX century. on the basis of the botanical garden, a garden and agricultural research station was created. This became the starting point for replenishment with new exhibits from around the world.

In the Soviet years, the Sukhum botanical garden, whose webcams provide an opportunity to enjoy the nature of the place in real time, received the status of a research institute of botany and continued to develop actively.

During the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, the place received colossal destruction. Hundreds of bombs fell on the territory of the botanical garden, which destroyed about 80% of the plants. After these events, employees began to restore unique collections. Now the area of ​​the garden is 30 hectares. Almost 5 thousand species of various trees, shrubs and flowers grow here.
