Sheffield, whose webcams can be viewed online on this site, is a colorful town in the northern part of England.

Despite the small popularity among tourists, there are many interesting places and beautiful objects that are worthy of attention.
Before setting off to travel around Sheffield itself, it is worth seeing the High Stones mound, which is located in the vicinity of the city. From its summit, reaching 548 meters, a stunning panorama of Sheffield opens up. The hill is surrounded by the picturesque Peak District National Park.
Experts believe that the mound dates back to the Bronze Age and is of man-made origin. Presumably, there was a burial pit in this place about 3.5 thousand years ago.
You can learn more facts about Sheffield by visiting the Shepherd's Wheel Museum. It is located in the southwestern part of the town. And on its territory there is one of the oldest water wheels in the world, which is still functioning.
It is noteworthy that work on the creation of a museum at the location of the old wheel was started in the 16th century. And in 1900, they wanted to remove it in order to create a public park. In the end, everything was left in its place, and a museum was opened near the reconstructed water wheel.

One of the most beautiful crossings in Sheffield is considered Our Lady's Bridge.

It was built over 8 centuries ago. And its architectural appearance staggers the imagination to this day.
Initially, the object was created from a tree. But at the end of the 15th century, it was rebuilt from stone. The bridge owes its name to the chapel of the Virgin Mary, which is located nearby. The transition is considered the oldest of all that are thrown across the Don in the city.
Of interest is the monumental monument of Cholera, which was erected as a tribute to the memory of the victims of the epidemic that plagued the townspeople in the 19th century.
The monument is represented by a neo-Gothic style tower with a memorial plaque attached to it. The monument rises above the park-reserve, founded in the 50s of the century before last.

For those who cannot yet visit England, it is recommended to watch Sheffield webcams online.
