The area of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Navy, located in the Leninsky district of Sevastopol, at the quay front of the Artillery Bay, between St. senyavina and Aivazovsky. 25 APR 1996 unmarked the square was named in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Russian fleet. On the square of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Navy is a monument in honor of the 300th anniversary of the fleet. It was opened on 27 July 1996 (architect I. I. Mednikov). The monument is a stele, lined with gray granite, with round aperture with a diameter of 274 cm. It embodies the authentic anchor chain, the shape and dimensions of the horn legs, the blades of which correspond to the Admiralty anchor of the EIGHTEENTH century. The stele is crossed from two sides of the metallic tape with the words: "the Russian Navy be!" and "300 years of Russian fleet". On the podium with two sides - metal applied numerals "1696". The beginning of the creation of the Russian fleet was laid in the reign of Peter I. After the annexation of Crimea to Russia in may 1783 in Akhtiarsky (Sevastopol) a Bay entered the court of the Azov and Danube flotillas. 3 (14) June on the West shore of the South Bay laid the first stone of the building four. This date became the day of Foundation of Sevastopol - the main base, the main port (1804), military fortress (1809) of the black sea fleet.
